Workshop on Climate Change Adaptation & Project Launch of Climate Change Adaptation in Rural China

On June 24th, a workshop on climate change adaptation was jointly held at Beijing by CANGO and ACCC. The workshop is also a kick off meeting of project “Climate Change Adaptation in Rural China” conducted by CANGO starting from early this year.An audience of 48 people from NGOs, academy and public institutions all over China as well as local government departments witnessed the project opening.
Mr. Huang Haoming, the Executive Director of CANGO and Ms. Rebecca Nadin, the Director of ACCC delivered welcome speeches. Experts invited from China Agricultural University and ACCC team shared lectures on the latest trends of international climate change adaptation, advices for small-unit farmer households on climate change adaptation and climate change/health nexus. CANGO made a brief intro of the on-going project “Climate Change Adaptation in Rural China” and invited its local partner at Shandong Province to introduce the development of the target area as well as project design and expected outcomes with the topic of climate change adaptation and sustainable development in rural areas.
The project “Climate Change Adaptation in Rural China” will be conducted by CANGO during 2015 and 2017, aiming to introduce and replicate community-based and ecosystem-based climate-smart practices.
